KORG MS-20

The KORG MS-20 is a classic analog monophonic synthesizer produced by KORG from 1978 to 1983. It is renowned among musicians and sound designers for its unique sound, versatility, and user-friendly interface.

The MS-20 features two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) which can generate sawtooth, square, and pulse waves. Additionally, each oscillator has its own frequency modulation (FM) generator, allowing for a variety of harmonically complex timbres.

The MS-20 also has a classic low-pass filter (VCF) which can be adjusted to produce resonant peaks and self-oscillation. The VCF can be modulated using the envelope generator, sample and hold circuit, and the external input jack.

Other features include a noise generator and an envelope generator with adjustable attack and decay times. The MS-20 also includes a patch panel for external signal processing and modulation, allowing for a wide range of sound design possibilities.

• The MS-20 has been used by a variety of artists including Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, and Radiohead.
• In 2013, KORG released the MS-20 Mini, a smaller replica of the original synthesizer with a few modifications.
